Management
Management: To all the Managers, thank you for your assistance throughout my time at Showcase. You have enabled me to grow as an employee, and I thank you all for your guidance over the past two years. I am also grateful for your flexibility regarding days off and catering to my holiday requests, specifically allowing me to visit the USA last year despite the inconvenient flight dates!
Ushers and Box Office
Ushers: As the neighbouring department to stand, I've gotten to know you throughout my time at Showcase. Although we often battle for that Box Office cover, I will miss our weekday opens, where we'd chat about random football transfers or results. All the best for the rest of the season, but I am somewhat glad I won't be seeing out the rest of the Premier League season.
Box Office: My one true love, the BEST department by far! I will miss taking you guys off for your breaks and I will forever hope that Zain has to count all the stand stock forever... You guys are all very chill and kind and I wish you all the best with your futures.
Food Court and Bar
Food Court: Although I still do not know how the hell you make a frozen coffee, I still somewhat enjoyed any shifts I had on Food Court. But I will be glad to never have to do a decaf coffee again because that process is traumatic, never again. But you guys are all so entertaining and I will miss our little chats whilst being at the prep table. Good, fun times! P.S. thanks for always making me some banging fries and ice creams <3.
Bar: I didn't have that many shifts on bar but I will always remember the fun times I had up there throughout the years. It takes a lot of acting to pretend I know which alcohol is which as a person who doesn't drink... Adam, we never got to finish our A-Z film game but I always appreciated your company and entertainment whilst on shift! I think my favourite memory of the bar is probably when I was on my own just making bento boxes watching EURO 2024 lol.
Stand
I thought long and hard about how I could go about writing something for the past few years, and instead of name dropping everyone, because I don't even know how many will actually get this far, I will instead do a general farewell. You guys have been my closest colleagues for the greater part of 2.5 years, some of you I have known since D-1 and others I may have met through 23' / 24', and some maybe as recent as a couple of weeks back. Either way, I will miss you guys. A lot.
You've been a part of my day-to-day life since the beginning of this chapter, right to the end. I wish all of you the best and I hope that you can reach the dreams you aspire to.
Keep pursuing what you believe in, put in the work and even if you don't think you're making progress, keep pushing because each thing you do puts you one step closer to reaching what you aspire to achieve. Thank you for everything, live good lives, I will see you around. Be good people.
